TAPC is a widely used hole-transport material in organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs), due to the proper energy band gap, relatively high triplet energy level, and high hole mobility. However, its application to solar cell device is rarely reported which might be due to mismatched energy level. In this regard, we expect that replacing methyl groups of TAPC with electron-withdrawing or electron-donating substituents would tune their HOMO and LUMO levels which allow them to be used in perovskite solar cell as an HTM material. A series of TAPC moieties was synthesized with various electron donating and electron withdrawing groups, -H, -OMe, and -CF3. Photophysical and electrochemical properties of TAPC moieties were systematically investigated. Finally, they were used as HTM material in perovskite solar cell and their device performances were compared with its reference material, TAPC. |
