Self-assembled polydiacetylene supramolecules in the form of liposomes and Langmuir-Schaefer (LS) or Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films are attractive owing to their unique “blue-to-red” colormetric transition phenomena. In an earlier effort, it was shown that polydiacetylene liposomes manufactured from PCDA-ABA (10,12-pentacosadiynoic aminobutyric acid), display partial reversibility upon thermal stimulus. In this study, we tested the different phenomena of PCDA-ABA in vesicle solution and LS-film upon different polymerization temperature in 25 ℃ and 50 ℃. After polymerization of both LS-films and vesicles samples of PCDA-ABA in different temperatures, it was revealed that LS films and vesicles that are polymerized in the temperature of 25 ℃ showed typical partially reversibility. However, LS films that were polymerized in the temperature of 50 ℃ showed complete irreversibility and vesicle solutions showed complete reversibility which are completely opposite result to LS films. |
