Increase in open-circuit voltage of dye-sensitized solar cells with Na2S-modified photoelectrode |
초록 |
The effects of sodium sulfide(Na2S) as a surface modifier on the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) were studied. Na2S-modified TiO2 electrodes prepared by a soaking process were applied to the photoelectrodes of DSSCs. The reference device without any modification showed performance of 672mV of open-circuit voltage(Voc), 17.35mA/cm2 of short-circuit current(Jsc), and 66.15% of fill factor (FF), which led to a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 7.71%, whereas for the device with the Na2S-TiO2/FTO electrode, the PCE was increased to 8.08%(Voc = 700mV, Jsc = 16.53 mA/cm2, and FF = 69.81%). It is believed that the Na2S modification induced the formation of a surface dipole on the TiO2 photoelectrode, leading to the conduction band edge shift of TiO2 toward a negative direction, and thus to an enhancement in Voc and a decrease in Jsc. |
