Multi-layered film for DMFC was prepared by layer by layer self assembly method. To get high efficiency, membrane for DMFC requires selectivity for proton and methanol; proton conductivity is required to high and methanol permeability to low. In this study, poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) and sulfonated poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (sPPO) were deposited alternately on the Nafion and quartz. To increase chemical stability, PAH/sPPO film was crosslinked by UV irradiation after infiltration of diazido-stilbene disulfonic acid disodium salt (DAS). Chemical stability of the film was investigated by UV-vis spectroscopy after erosion test in alkaline solution. PAH/sPPO film showed high selectivity(proton conductivity/methanol permeability), and crosslinking is confirmed to increase chemical stability of the film. |
