제목 Synthesis and Liquid Crystalline Properties of Ln3+-Cored Complexes Based on Naphthalene Derivatives with Long Alkyl Units
초록 To investigate the influence of the lanthanide ion and the chain length on the thermal as well as their photophysical properties of liquid crystalline naphthalene derivatives with long alkyl chains, we prepared a series of naphthalene derivatives with long alkyl chains (Ph-NA-OCnH2n+1, n= 6, 12 and 18) and their Ln(III)-chelated complexes. Some of them exhibit the typical smectic phases in the range of 120℃∼160℃. In this presentation, the synthesis and liquid crystalline and photophysical properties of phenyl-naphthalene-2-carboxylic methyl ester derivatives and their Ln(III)-chelated complexes will be discussed in details.
