제목 Preparation of Hydrofluoroether Using Hydroakoxylation of Fluoroalcohol and Fluoroolefin
초록 Hydrofluoroethers (HFEs) are being used as third generation replacements to chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrofluorochlorocarbons (HCFCs) and perfluorocarbons (PFCs) because of their nearly zero stratospheric ozone depletion and relatively low global warming potential. In this study. we investigated hydroalkoxylation reaction between alcohol or fluoroalcohol and hexafluoropropene using fluoride salt as catalyst to make fluorinated ethers like CF3CHFCF2OCH2CF3, CF3CHFCF2OCF2CH2CF3, CF3CHFCF2OCH2CHFCH3, CF3CHFCF2OCF2CHFCHFCF3 and CF3CHFCF2OCH(CF3). Among the fluoride catalyst tested, potassium salt showed the best activity in yield and selectivity. IR study showed fluoride anion interacts with hydroxyl group of alcohol to weaken 0-H bond, which seems to promote addition of alcohol to hexafluoropropene.
