제목 | Novel Process for Acetaminophen from Halobenzenes |
초록 | Acetaminophen (Tyrenol®) is widely used as an over-the-counter analgesic and also as a major ingredient in cold and flu treatment. In spite of its extensive medical applications, the studies on the process development for more economical and eco-friend production has been scarce although the major drawbacks on the conventional process are recognized. Herein, an efficient and regioselective synthetic procedure for acetaminophen is presented from halobenzenes. The new process does not involve any strong acids in the process or any purification steps for regioisomers while the conventional process requires usage of the strong acids (HNO3, H2SO4), the additional process for purifying regioisomers, and the recycling process of the waste acids. |
