제목 Brønsted Acid Catalyzed Hydroxyalkylation/Alkylation of Furanic Platform Molecules to Higher Carbon Transport Fuels
초록 The synthesis of higher carbon transport fuels from lignocellulosic biomass encompasses the process of upgrading biomass-derived small-molecules to precursors containing a specific carbon range. In this work, the Hydroxyalkylation/Alkylation of furanic platform molecules to produce C15 ketones over Brønsted acid catalysts was discussed. Different types of sulfonic acid catalysts, biphasic and solid supported, were synthesized. The hydrophobic solid acid catalysts showed activity and selectivity that are comparable to those of homogeneous acid catalysts. It was noted that the solid catalysts, which can be easily recovered, have appreciable hydrolytic stability in the presence of water, and retains their acidity over multiple reaction cycles. This work was supported by the Energy Efficiency & Resources (No. 20163010092210) of the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) grant funded by the Korea government Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy.
