Colloidal nanoparticles have been extensively investigated not only as fundamental tools for understanding crystallizations but also as building blocks for novel functional materials. Quasi-amorphous photonic solutions (QAPS) have been received interests in the field of photonics due to characteristic angle-independent and non-brilliant photonic color. In this presentation, QAPS exhibiting high color saturation and color gamut were prepared by using SiO2 nanoparticles modified with polydopamine (PDA) and it is capsulated into uniform double emulsion type microcapsules. In terms of the practical applications, these labile and easy to handling capsulated QAPS showing high contrast and large color gamut, can be potentially applied to photonic sensors of display pixels. |
