Ag doped nanocomposite catalysts, such as Ag@SiO2, were investigated to evaluate the influence of core-shell morphology on catalytic performance in the antibacterial test. The Ag doped SiO2 nanocomposite catalysts were synthesized by a chemical solution method via metal alkoxide hydrolysis and condensation. The catalysts were characterized by use of XRD, antibacterial test, TEM, and TGA. The Ag@SiO2 catalysts exhibited superior catalytic activity over the catalysts prepared by SiO2 support in solution. The high catalytic activity on a nocomposite catalysts in solution is mainly attributed to the improved surface area by nanoparticles catalyst morphology. |
