Nanoparticles, which can be synthesized using extensive elements, exhibit diverse electrical, chemical, and optical properties. However, obtaining high-performance nanocomposites that fully exhibit such functions is challenging since an appropriate method to assemble nanoparticles in 3-dimensional polymeric matrix has not yet been developed. Here, we report on a 3-dimensional assembly method to fabricate high-performance nanocomposites using nanoparticles. The assembly method results in high-density packing of nanoparticles at interfaces between interconnected pores and elastomeric matrix. The properties of partially exposed nanoparticles can be reinforced after following treatment such as cold-welding, which significantly improves the performance of nanocomposite. By adopting various nanoparticles, high-performance nanocomposites with a variety of functions such as bioelectrodes, electrochemical sensors, and optoelectronic sensors can be developed. |
