Influence of high energy milling and metal oxide on electrochemical performances of LiFePO4/C composites. |
초록 |
Olivine lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) becomes research focus in lithium ion battery field because of its thermal stability and natural abundance of its raw materials. However, its application in lithium ion batteries suffers severely from poor electrochemical activity due to comparatively low electronic and ionic conductivity. LiFePO4/C composite was synthesized by solid state reaction process by using pre-synthesized FePO4•xH2O and glucose as carbon source. A high-energy milling method was applied for improving its capacity delivery and rate capability. In addition to particle size reduction and carbon-coating, surface modification with metal oxides can also improve the electrochemical performance of LiFePO4 powders. V2O5, which is a typical intercalation compound was utilized during the synthesis of carbon-coated LiFePO4 powders by a solid state reaction process. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, laser scattering particle analysis, and galvanostatic charge and discharge were employed to understand the effect of high-energy milling and V2O5 addition on the LiFePO4 cathode material. |
