Since it was reported that carbon nanotube(CNT) is compatible with biological species, the use of single-walled CNT and nanotube random networks for biosensor has been a subject of active research for several years. In particular, electrical property of the CNT is sensitive when some molecules are adsorbed on its side wall. Here, electrical detection of biomolecules is investigated by using CNT in order to make biosensor simple and sensitive. We introduce several functional groups on the single-walled CNT film surface by conducting various pretreatments such as sonication, acid treatment and introducing secondary molecule. With these functional groups, CNTs interact with biomolecules like DNA, protein covalently or non-covalently. To confirm immobilization of the biomolecules, fluorescence detection method is performed. And 2-terminal resistor device is employed to check interaction of the CNTs with DNA by measuring conductance of the CNTs. |
