제목 | Preparation of silica material dually responsive to light and electric field and its smart fluid application |
초록 | In this study, we report a synthesis of silica (SiO2) material dually responsive to light and electric (E) field. In detail, core SiO2 materials are homogeneously prepared according to the Stober method. To assign light responsive property, SiO2 materials are treated with silane and spiropyran molecules are introduced on to the surface. Consequently,spiropyran-coated SiO2 materials are dually responsive to light and E field. To investigate the dual responsivity, spiropyran-coated SiO2 materials are dispersed in mineral oil with small addition of lecithin molecule. Under ultra-violet light, spiropyran molecules turned into merocyanine structure and showed increased shear stress due to the electrostatic interaction with lecithin. With the dual application of UV and E field, the highest shear stress is measured owing to the synergistic effect of fibril-like structure formation and electrostatic interaction. |
