Shape memory polymers (SMPs) have been utilized for versatile applications due to their stimuli responsive behavior which recovers its original shape after deformation. However, traditional techniques including molding and extrusion have mainly been utilized to fabricate shape memory polymers. Considering that, digital light processing (DLP) based 3D printing has been considered. In this study, we aimed to fabricate shape memory polymers which could be facilitated to biomedical applications. Mixture of photopolymerizable materials was cured with help of photoinitiator. The systematic analyses of the produced objects were carried out in terms of exposure time and composition. Mechanical (compressive and tensile) properties and thermal properties were assessed. Recovering ability by applying heat was further examined using produced photopolymerized objects. Additionally, in vitro cell tests using series of cells were carried out to assess feasibility of SMPs to biomedical applications. |
