제목 A Study on Optical Phase Retardation Control of TAC Film Depending on Organic Additives and their Film Process
초록 In LCDs, Triacetyl cellulose (TAC) film plays an important role as protection film for polyvinyl alcohol layer in polarizer due to its high transparence, flatness and low birefringence. LCDs require TAC films to be even lower birefringence for high level of image quality. Conventional TAC film has a small Re (in-plane birefringence) retardation value, but has some Rth (out-of-plane birefringence) retardation value. This Rth value sometimes raises imperfect optical compensation on LCDs resulting in decrease contrast and color shift at oblique incidence. In this work, various recipe of doped TAC films were prepared and their optical retardation changes were investigated with regard to low retardation of TAC film constitution. Molecular structures of organic additives were deliberated to analyze the obtained results and their existing geometry in TAC film were interpretated with considering of affordable chemical interactions.
