Fabrication of ceramic slag powders for 3D printing application |

The steel industry consumes large amounts of raw materials and energy to produce steel, which is the industry's basic material, and simultaneously generates many by-products and wastes. Slag is a representative by-product of the steel industry and is recycled as a waste, and is recycled for various purposes depending on the treatment method and its unique characteristics, and research on this is actively underway. In this study, the applicability of slag as a 3D printing application material was examined. It was manufactured in powder form capable of 3D printing by applying SAT (Slag Atomizing Technology), an eco-friendly dry treatment technology, to slag discharged from domestic steelmakers. The produced slag powder was additive manufactured using a PBF (Powder Bed Fusion) 3D printer to evaluate its properties. |
