Anaerobic Digestion by the addition of EFB(Empty Fruit Bunch) in POME |

In order to make the best biogas production in the anaerobic digestion, it is important to be able to compare the raw input materials on the basis of their sustainability, which may include a variety of environmental indicators. This study examined the comparative sustainability of renewable technologies in terms of biogas production using POME and addition of EFB, using biological pretreatment. The comparative results showed that generation of bioenergy was associated with biogas and the increase ratio of biogas was more than 20%. Another trial is to treat alkali addition to hydrolyze more in the EFB treatment. In this case the glucose production is proved to enhance more. Other environmental indicators should be applied to gain a complete picture of the technologies studied. The generation of biogas may be 40 m3/ton POME biogas in comparison with existing results of 25 m3/ton POME (efficiency of prodution is 60%) based on the assumption of addition of EFB. |
