제목 Transparent Soft Mold Process for PDP Using Poly(IBMA-co-MAA) as Binder Polymer
초록 Barrier ribs in the color Plasma Display Panel are indispensable to maintain the discharge space between two glass faceplates as well as to prevent optical crosstalk in adjacent cells. There are several available methods for the formation of barrier ribs. Such as screen printing, sandblasting and photolithographic method. Recently LTCC-M(Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic on Metal) and metal mold press methods were also introduced for the simplification of PDP manufacturing process. Simple press or LTCC-M methods are also desirable from the view point of saving valuable raw materials. However, these methods have difficulty in the demolding process. In this work, we synthesised poly(IBMA-co-MAA) with various composition for the purpose of reducing firing temperature of barrier ribs. The barrier rib paste was prepared by first dissolving poly(IBMA-co-MAA) in a mixture solvent(BC/BCA(30:70)) at 50wt% concertration. To this solution were added a mixture of functional monomers(PETA/EB204=50:50wt%), Photoinitiator and additives to make vehicle. Inorganic powder was added and then the whole mixture was finely dispersed in the three roll mill for 2hrs. This photosensitive paste was coated on the rear panel and then UV was irradiated through the transparent soft mold made of silicon resin. After UV curing the soft mold was delaminated by slow winding process. This TSM press method minimizes the contact area between patterned barrier rib and mold, i.e. easy demolding process. The barrier ribs with geometry of 130㎛ in height, 50㎛ in width and 225㎛ in pitch could be formed with high resolution.
