Solid-state flexible supercapacitors (SCs) attract active research attention owing to rapid charge/discharge speed, long-cycling life, and good operational safety compared to batteries. However, their low energy storage density limits the use of SCs in various applications. In this work, electrochemically stable ion gel electrolytes and 3D interconnected mesoporous carbons were used to improve the energy storage performance of the SCs. The resulting SCs show high specific capacitance of 323 F g−1, energy density of 179 Wh kg−1 and SSA-normalized capacitance of 30 μF cm−2 indicating enhanced mass transport of the bulky electrolyte ions in the porous electrodes. In addition, all-solid-state bendable SCs with outstanding energy storage performance were successfully demonstrated. |
