Preparation and characterization of pitch-based carbon fiber papers impregnated with various carbon fillers |

In this work, effects of various conductive carbon fillers on Pitch-based carbon fiber papers (CPFs) are investigated. Pitch-based CFPs were fabricated with various contents of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT), Ketjenblacks and graphene oxides (GO). The electrical conductivity, mechanical properties and surface free energy of the prepared pitch-based CFPs are measured as a function of the carbon conductive filler contents. Effects of hydride fillers contents on Pitch-based CFPs were also investigated. The electric conductivity and thermal properties of the prepared CFPs was investigated by four-probe point method and thermal gravity analysis (TGA). The morphology of CFPs was observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The porosity of the fabricated CPFs was examined by mercury porosimetry. The results proved that conductive carbon fillers affect the electric and thermal properties. The optimized combination of carbon fillers is investigated. |
