Novel bioelastomer from cationic copolymerization of waste vegetable oil and dicyclopentadiene (DCP) |
초록 |
novel thermosetting bioelastomers have been prepared by the cationic copolymerization of waste vegetable oil with dicyclopentadiene (DCP) catalyzed by soybean oil (SBO)-diluted boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFE). The gelation time of the reactions were about 16-17 hours at 110℃. The yields of the bulk copolymers are essentially quantitative, while the yields of the cross-linked copolymers remaining after Soxhlet extraction with methylene chloride were about 70%, depending on the quantity of reactants and catalyst used. 1H-NMR spectroscopy and soxhelt extraction data indicate that these elastomers consist of a crosslinked soybean oil-DCP network and certain amounts of methylene chloride-soluble liner or unreacted waste oil. The molecular weights of these soluble fractions are in the range from 2000-4500 g/mol based on polystyrene standards. According to the TGA data, these elastomers are thermally stable below 350℃. |
