제목 Novel bioelastomer from cationic copolymerization of waste vegetable oil and dicyclopentadiene (DCP)
초록 novel thermosetting bioelastomers have been prepared by the cationic copolymerization of waste vegetable oil with dicyclopentadiene (DCP) catalyzed by soybean oil (SBO)-diluted boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFE). The gelation time of the reactions were about 16-17 hours at 110℃. The yields of the bulk copolymers are essentially quantitative, while the yields of the cross-linked copolymers remaining after Soxhlet extraction with methylene chloride were about 70%, depending on the quantity of reactants and catalyst used. 1H-NMR spectroscopy and soxhelt extraction data indicate that these elastomers consist of a crosslinked soybean oil-DCP network and certain amounts of methylene chloride-soluble liner or unreacted waste oil. The molecular weights of these soluble fractions are in the range from 2000-4500 g/mol based on polystyrene standards. According to the TGA data, these elastomers are thermally stable below 350℃.
