In vivo Self-Powered Wireless Transmission Using Biocompatible Flexible Energy Harvester |

The practical using the biomechanical energy demonstrated with a flexible single crystal PMN-PZT energy harvester. we demonstrate wireless data commnunication enabled by in vivo biomechanical energy using the energy harvester. From the contraction and relaxation of a porcine heart, the single-crystalline PMN-PZT energy harvester generated short-circuit current of 1.74μA and open-circuit voltage of 17.8V. The various cell viability and the histological test was performed to show the biocompatibility of energy harvester. Finally, we could wirelessly transmit communication data using the energy harvester. It was also proved visually by repeatedly switching on and off a light bulb using the energy harvester. This successful self-powered wireless data communication shows the possibility of powerful application to implantable biomedical devices directly using biomechanical energy. |
