Water content facilitated galvanostatic electrolysis in ionic liquid to generate mediators for the environmental pollutant applications |
초록 |
Electrogeneration of active mediators in ionic liquid medium by galvanostic mode is questionable due to attaining of high cell potential 20 V. In order to minimize the cell potential to proceed the generation of homogeneous mediator by constant current electrolysis method, water can be used as co-solvent. In the present work, different concentrations of water in [BMIM]CF3SO3 ionic liquid has been tried and studied the electrolysis by both divided (by Nafion 324 membrane) and undivided electrolytic cell. Initially, different metal ion precursors such as Co(II), Ce(III), and V(III) were performed electrolysis and selected through oxidation/reduction potential (ORP) change. The selected mediator was optimized by current density and different electrode pair through the reduction efficiency variation. Finally, a model pollutant dichloromethane reduction was tested. |
