제목 Facile estimation for isolation degree of CNC suspensions using turbidimetry and surface charge analysis
초록 The isolation degree of CNC suspension that was calculated from amount of sediments which was obtained by using the centrifugation method can be estimated with turbidimetric or surface charge analysis of the CNC suspensions from three types of cellulosic materials− MCC, softwood and cotton pulp− by acid hydrolysis following mechanical disintegration. As the passing of high pressure homogenizer treatment was increased, the isolation degree of CNCs from MCC was increased from 2 to 97% whereas the absorbencies from turbidimetric measurement of CNC suspensions was decreased from 2.6 to 0.1 Abs units. Furthermore, the surface charge from ζ-potential measurement of CNC suspensions was increased from -35 to -99 mV. These results showed a direct correlation between yield and turbidity and surface charge of CNC suspensions and their correlation indices (0.9) were closed to maximal value of 1, and it might be suggested as facile and rapid estimation method for CNC manufacturing process.
