Effect of manganese concentration in lanthanum oxide dispersed ferritic stainless steels (SUS441) on oxidation behavior for solid oxide fuel cell metallic interconnect material |
초록 |
In this study, we have investigated the effect of manganese (Mn) concentration in lanthanum oxide (La2O3) dispersed ferritic stainless steels (SUS441) on oxidation behavior for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) metallic interconnect material. The manganese metal powder (0 ~ 2wt.%) was mixed with La2O3 (3wt.%) dispersed SUS441 by high-energy ball milling (HEBM) process. The mixed powders with various Mn concentration were pelletized and sintered at 1400℃ in reduction condition. The area specific resistance (ASR) test was evaluated at 800℃ in electrical furnace. The material characterization and morphology analysis were performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). After oxidation, the oxide scale formed on the surface of the sample was conformed as a Mn-Cr spinel structure. As the Mn concentration of the mixed powder increased, the thickness of the oxide scales formed became thicker. Among the various mixed composition, the sample with 1wt.% Mn added had the lowest area specific resistance value. The results show that Mn concentration in SUS441 is an important point affecting the oxidation behavior. |
