제목 Geometric controls on complex helical nanofilaments
초록 Bent-core liquid crystals (LCs) have attracted interests due to their unique optical/ electrical properties promising applications. [1] Among them, achiral bent-core LCs were reported accompanying not only ferroelectric switching behavior but polar and chiral properties with uniform helical nanofilament (HNF) structure. [2] Spontaneous chirality-preserving nucleation and growth of HNF have been studied in bulk states, but the chiral and dimensional characteristics could not be handled. [3] Here, we introduce the nano-confinement system for geometric controls on complex HNF structure. In the confinement system composed of nanochannel, we can control not only the geometrical properties but chirality of helical structure.
