제목 Cellular response on poly(styrene-4-sulfonic acid sodium salt)-patterned fluoropolymer substrates prepared by using ion beam-induced surface grafting technique
초록 In this study, the preparation of selectively functionalized polymer substrates and their utilization as a new substrate for cell patterning are described. The surface of a poly(tetrafluoroethylene-co-perfluoro(propyl vinyl ether)) (PFA) film was activated by ion irradiation and styrene-4-sulfonic acid sodium salt (SSNa) was then graft polymerized onto the selectively-activated PFA surface, resulting in poly(styrene-4-sulfonic acid sodium salt) (PSSNa)-patterned PFA surface. The resulting PSSNa-patterned PFA surface was investigated in terms of the grafting degree, chemical structure, surface morphology, and wettability. The result of the cell culture on the PSSNa-patterned PFA surface revealed that cells were adhered to and aligned on the PSSNa surfaces not on the pristine PFA surface, resulting in well-defined micropatterns of cells.
