Cancer immunotherapy has recently gained much attention as next-generation for cancer treatment. Although various cancer treatment strategies have been developed, the therapeutic effect is limited due to tumor heterogeneity and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. We demonstrated the induction of anticancer immune responses by the combination treatment with irreversible electroporation and immune adjuvant to overcome these limitations. The optimal electrical conditions for inducing damage-related molecular patterns were determined through in vitro cell experiments, and the combination of electrical ablation and immune adjuvant showed improved anticancer therapeutic effects through the syngeneic lung cancer model. Taken all together, we believe that the synergistic effect of electrical ablation and immune adjuvant enable to be an excellent strategy for effective cancer immunotherapy. |
