Resolving compatibility issues in the Garnet Solid-state Li-ion battery with interface modification |

The LLZO garnet solid electrolyte is a promising candidate to achieve the high energy and power density, but it limits by the large interfacial resistance in the All Solid-state Li-ion Battery (ASSLIB). Herein, we propose a sintering aid to enhance the interfacial connection between the cathode and solid electrolyte by mixing with the LCO composite. Our prepared Solid-state Battery delivering an initial discharge capacity of 66 mAh/g (80oC) at 0.1 C rate based on the pristine LCO composite cathode. After the first cycle, the capacity was decreased due to the space charge layer formation in the cathode/electrolyte interface. The interfacial modification in the cathode/electrolyte interface reducing the resistance but not in the electrode and electrolyte decomposition. This work suggests an additional interface modification in the active material helps to enhance the discharge capacity and cycle life of the All Solid-state Li-ion battery. |
