Application of novel iron carbides synthesized by using mesoporous C3N4 for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction |
초록 |
Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) reaction is a promising process as an alternative chemical process to convert syngas to synthetic fuels. For the preparation of iron-based FTS catalyst, novel iron carbides derived from a highly ordered mesoporous graphitic-C3N4 (Fe/mpg-C3N4) was successfully synthesized. At a specific preparation condition, the iron carbon species was formed through the degradation of mesoporous C3N4 structures by simultaneously forming carbon matrices as well. The decomposition of the mpg-C3N4 can enhance a carbo-thermal reduction of iron oxides to both metallic iron and iron carbides, which are known to be active species for FTS reaction. The co-presence of metallic iron as well as carbide phases during carbothermal reduction step significantly enhanced the catalytic activity with an enhanced C5+ hydrocarbon selectivity due to the selective formation of the most active χ-Fe5C2 phases. |
