제목 | Improvement of biogas-valorization in microbial electrosynthesis for CO2 reduction to CH4 using electrode attached cells |
초록 | Biogas-upgrading (e.g. Bio-CH4) provides a versatile application such asheat and power generation and as a vehicular fuel. Microbial electrosynthesis(MES) technology has been extensively studied in bio-upgrading methane using ananaerobic digestion system. Here, we find that cathode attached methanogens play a key role inthe bio-upgrading of methane in the MES system. The biocathode produced methaneat a maximum rate of 10.55L CH4/ m2 cat/ day at −1.0V (versusAg/AgCl). The NGS showed most methanogens (i.e.Methanobacterium, Methanothrix) attached to the electrodesurface. Thebio-upgrading methane production in real biogas samples showed a 8.8L CH4/m2 cat/ day. And bench-scale reactor shows 95% final content of CH4,4.7L CH4/ m2 cat/ day produced. This study provides a crucial point of bio-methaneupgrading for the enhancement of CH4 production rate and applicationfor the real fields. |
