Ethylene removal by adsorption and plasma-catalytic oxidation over monolithic catalyst in a mesh-type corona discharge-coupled catalytic reactor |
초록 |
Non-thermal plasma (NTP) is a clean, efficient and eco-friendly pollution control technique. NTP coupled with catalysis is a promising technology for dwindling of dilute volatile organic compounds(VOCs) which is widely used due to its operation under low temperature and atmospheric pressure. Ethylene is one of VOCs produced by agricultural commodities that cause the ripening of fruits and vegetables which when controlled can lead to extend the postharvest shelf life of them. The adsorption of dilute ethylene was performed in mesh-type corona discharge-coupled catalytic reactor(CDCCR) with monolithic catalyst serving as both adsorbent and catalyst. The cyclic adsorption/plasma-catalytic oxidation has been widely used for treatment of air contaminated by dilute ethylene. Air containing dilute ethylene (30ppm) was enriched on monolithic catalyst surface during adsorption process followed by application of plasma to recover the adsorption capability of the surface. |
