제목 Preparation and Evaluation of Functional Biomaterials Using Rehmanniae Radix Extract for Cosmetic Materials
초록 The main objective of this study was to prepare functional biomaterials for cosmetic materials using chitosan, polyvinyl alcohol, sulfosuccinic acid as a crosslinking agent, and Rehmanniae Radix extract (RE) as a skin-whitening agent, and glycerol as a plasticizer and to investigate their RE release properties, tyrosinase inhibitory (%), and measurement of antioxidant using DPPH assay. RE from Rehmanniae Radix was extracted with the hot water extraction method. The prepared biomaterials were characterized by FE-SEM and FT-IR. Mechanical properties of prepared functional biomaterials were also investigated. RE release was examined with changes of pH at 36.5 °C. The degree of RE release was also investigated using artificial skin. Results indicated that RE was released constantly for 6 h. In addition, the results of tyrosinase inhibitory and DPPH-radical scavenging activity of functional biomaterials were 50% and 80%, respectively.
