Casting is one of the oldest and most energy-intensive manufacturing processes, and as energy costs have increased rapidly in recent years, there have been many attempts to use energy efficiently. Typical modern casting processes include four main stages classified as melting, melt-treatment, melt-analysis, and dust collection. Process control optimization is required at each stage and the reduction of melting energy is the most important factor for saving total energy. To this end, the energy efficiency of the casting process can be improved by optimizing energy consumption. In this study, the energy consumption of casting processes has been measured through the melting energy analysis method and the possibility of energy savings in casting process is discussed. |
