제목 The development of implant incorporated with BMP-2 loaded sponge as a delivery carrier for bone regeneration
초록 The 1st generation of scaffolds for spine fusion demands only ‘supporting’ between vertebral bodies. Recently, it is needed that implants for spinal surgery have biocompatibility and functional properties such as bone regeneration. Besides, many studies reported non-union among the causes of the failure in bone fusion between implant and vertebra. In this study, new scaffold was introduced to commercial spinal interbody disk cage (PEEK). New bone integrity induced by PEEK implant incorporated with sponge-typed scaffold loaded with BMP-2. The implant prototype production is composed of disk case incorporated with sponge typed scaffold loaded with BMP-2 which is scheduled to preclinical trials using mini-porcine.
