Enhanced catalytic activity of edge exposed 1T-WS2/WO3 nanohelix for efficient water splitting |
초록 |
As a substitution of noble metal catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), tungsten disulfide (WS2) is recognized as an emerging catalyst because of their active edge site. In addition, it is well known that the 1T phase, as one of the polymorph of TMDCs, can dramatically enhance the catalytic activity. Thus, many researches have tried to fabricate 1T phase WS2 with exposed edge site. Herein, we report for the first time a facile synthesis of 1T-WS2/WO3 nanohelix with exposed edge through the introduction of surface modified curved 3D scaffold. It was investigated that the oxygen deficient surface of WO3 has been affected to the growth behavior of WS2 during the sulfurization. As well as, curved 3D WO3 nanohelix were identified to be responsible for facilitating the formation of 1T phase. As a result, edge exposed 1T-WS2/WO3 nanohelix exhibits excellent high activity with 10 mA at 0.18 V (vs RHE). |
