Synthesis of a imidazolium Iodide and application for dye-sensitized solar cells |

Imidazolium iodides (Im+I-s) were synthesized with APII and ACII used as electrolytes in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), and the effects of such imidazolium substituents were investigated in terms of the photovoltaic performance of the cells. Synthesized iodides were confirmed by 1H-NMR. APII and ACII enabled a solar energy conversion efficiency of 6.4% and 6.8% compared with referenced DMII of 7.2%. APII and ACII were studied by FT-IR, 1H-NMR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). |
