Quantum Dot Self Assembly on Graphene Surface via π- π Interaction |

Graphene is a two-dimensional (2D) allotrope carbon valued for its electronic, photonicm and mechanical properties. Graphene based functional materials are coveted for applications in optoelectronics. Graphene derivatives provides easy access to their reactive surfaces at the expense of the properties of pure graphene.[1] A non chemical modification of graphene surface is ideal for preserving the surface properties of graphene. In this poster we present self-assembly of quantum dots (QDs) on graphene surface by functionalizing the nanoparticles with a ligand capable of π–π interactions with graphene surface. QD has a role of the light absorber in a hybrid donor-acceptor structure QDs-graphene in a solar cell system.[2] The synthesis and characterization of the ligand, its coupling with QDs, the nanohybridization of QDs to graphene as well as the optical characteristics of the product can be seen in the poster. |
