International concern is infection by bacterial resistance because of formation of biofilm by bacteria. The biofilm is armour composed of a extracellular polymeric substance and protect from external stimulation. It is founded to medical devices such as catheter, respirator, and implant in body and cause chronic infectious diseases. Because of the problems, we aimed to prepare metal nanoparticles(NP) having antibiofilm effect such as silver and copper synthesized on graphene oxide(GO) nanosheets. Prepared metal NP on GO were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy. The antibacterial activity was evaluated by measuring minimum inhibitory concentration, minimum biofilm inhibitory concentration, and minimum bactericidal concentration against bacteria forming biofilm and resistance. The anti-biofilm property of nanocomposites was tested in a microfluidic channel that has biofilm formed along the channel walls. |
