Over-lithiated oxides (OLOs) are one of perspective cathode material, however, they have critical limitations to employ in LIBs owing to its intrinsic chemical and electrochemical properties. In this work, I would like to present to enhance electrochemical performances of OLOs materials based on employing organic functional additive, tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphite (TMSP). First, TMSP can decrease internal pressure as it scavenges oxygen gas by chemical conversion reaction. Second, TMSP also reduces nucleophilic character of lithium oxides as it chemically reacts with lithium oxides. Third, TMSP greatly enhances interfacial stability on OLOs electrode as it provides an effective solid electrolyte interphases (SEI) layer. Finally, TMSP considerably reduces dissolution of transition metal components in OLOs electrode as it selectively scavenges fluoride anion (F-). Consequently, the cell employed with TMSP shows a remarkable electrochemical performances for 100 cycles. |
