Thermo-induced Plasmonic Coupling in Au/Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) Nanostructures Monitored by SPR Spectroscopy |
초록 |
Surface Plasmon resonance (SPR) is a collectively oscillating charge density with an enhanced electromagnetic field induced by the interaction between the light and the surface plasmons at noble metal/dielectric interfaces. The assembly of plasmonic nanostructures can induce near field coupling of surface plasmons between adjacent objects, leading to the generation of hot spots that are useful for enhancing Raman scattering. Noble metal nanostructures coupled with responsive polymers can be used to probe unique plasmonic properties associated with swelling-shrinking transitions in polymer chains triggered by a specific external stimulus. We developed a plasmonic-coupling-based sensing device consisting of Au nanoparticles separated from the Au substrate in Kretschmann configuration SPR spectroscopy through a thermo-responsive polymer linker layer. The optical properties of the highly coupled stimuli-responsive devices were investigated by both in-situ and static SPR analysis. |
