Recently, sPAES and sPEEK have been proposed as hydrocarbon-based polymer membranes to reduce the cost of commercial electrolyte membranes. However, there was a problem of degradation of the hydrocarbon-based polymer membrane during cell operation, and there was a limit in membrane durability compared to commercial electrolyte membranes. Therefore, in this study, a new reinforced composite membrane was prepared in order to improve the desorption phenomenon and durability of the separation membrane support and ionomer, and to secure economic feasibility. A reinforced composite membrane with high ionic conductivity, high durability, and permeability control properties impregnated with functional ionomers was prepared using a low-cost porous substrate with excellent durability. In addition, the characteristics of this reinforced composite membrane were investigated in order to be applied to the water electrolysis system. |
