제목 Preparation of diisocyanate and polyol chain extender from lignin biomass for the functional polymerization of polyurethane
초록 Polyurethane(PU) is one of the most useful chemical polymer in our life. Global market of PU grows bigger but toxic synthesis process that requires phosgene causes environmental problems. To avoid this problem, PU can be produced easily be chemical synthesis.  
In this study, to synthesis vanillin derived isocyanate and polyol, we dimerize vanillin and DHBA. With FeCl3 catalyst, it shows about 75% of dimerization yield. These dimers are modified with dicarboxylic acid and Curtius rearrangement for isocyanate synthesis, and modified with monoethanol amine as a polyol. Polyurethane synthesized with this divanillin-MEA as a chain extender shows significant physical properties than MDI derived PU. Divanillin were characterized by MALDI-TOF, UV-spectrum and H-NMR. These polyol and isocyanate can be used for PU synthesis, respectively.
