To improve the performance of polymer solar cells, interfacial engineering is considered one of the most effective strategy. Among the various methods to improve interfacial property, conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs) have been widely studied as interfacial charge transport and extraction layer materials because CPEs exhibit useful optical and electronic properties. It is known that CPE layer offers better charge extraction property by inducing the formation and alignment of an interfacial dipole. Enhancement of the solar cell performance has been studied due to a reduced charge recombination. Therefore, the CPE should not only play a role of extracting the charge carriers, but also contributes to preventing the opposite charge. However, little research has been conducted on the role of charge blocking. In this study, we investigated the effect of charge blocking property of conjugated polyelectrolyte on the performance of polymer solar cells using both n-type PFN-Br and p-type PFN. |
