Fabrication of thin film with controlled surface roughness using fluorine-based particles with low surface energy |

Recently, as the demand for displays applied to extreme external environments such as solar cells is increasing, thin films having excellent wettability and abrasion resistance are required. As a method of making the superhydrophobic thin film, there are various methods of making a physical structure on the surface by using a nano patterning process. Silica particles with fluorine functional groups were used as a simple method to produce thin films with low surface energy. Using 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorooctyltriethoxysilane by Stober method were synthesized particles are fluorine-based functional groups attached. As a first method for controlling the roughness of the particle surface, the content of fluorine silane was varied. As a second method, Polyvinylpyrrolidone dispersed in a solvent is added during particle synthesis and then immersed in NaOH to remove Polyvinylpyrrolidone. As a result, we made particles with increased surface roughness. |
