Preparation of carbon material as catalyst support with high dispersion and resistance to gasification |
초록 |
Since most carbon supported catalysts suffer from carbon burn-off, it is important to keep the stability during long term in oxidation. Coloma et al. reported that the formation of partial graphitization made the surface of carbon more resistance to air oxidation due to the π sites of basal planes. The effect of heat-treating a typical activated carbon at 1100 - 1600 ℃ was investigated by gas sorption and x-ray diffraction. Particular attention was paid to the recovery of the surface area and porosity of thermally treated carbons by means of oxidation treatments. It was found that the thermally modification of activated carbon could eliminate carbon impurites, bring about different degrees of graphitization, and improve the resistance of the carbon support to undergo gasification under air oxidation, but the surface area and porosity decreased. The higher the thermal treatment temperature, the greater the stability of the carbon support, and the more difficult the recovery of the surface area and porosity becomes. |
