제목 | Scale-up approaches for conversion of biomass into furanic platform chemicals |
초록 | Concerns about the depletion of fossil fuel reserves and increasing energy demands have encouraged the exploration of new procedures for converting cellulosic biomass into valuable platform chemicals and renewable fuel components. 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is considered as one of the promising green platform chemicals, but has multiple issues associated with its production. We have previously reported efficient synthesis of 5-acetoxymethylfurfural (AMF) which can be used as an alternative to HMF. Successful functionalization of AMF showed its potential to be a useful contribution to the renewable chemistry. But the absence of a systematic scale-up approach is a bottleneck to realizing the potential benefits offered by such conversion. Motivated by this, herein we present the scale-up approach for conversion of biomass into furanic platform chemicals. |
