제목 Carbon nanofiber for the hosting material for zinc metal anode
초록 A conductive carbon substrate was used to reduce dendrite formation by lowering an actual current density in a rechargeable zinc metal battery (RZMB). Here we propose carbon nanofiber hosts for the anode of RZMB. Zinc-deposited carbon nanofibers (ZnCNF) can be used to obtain higher exchange currents and lowering plating/stripping overpotentials. Zinc dendrite growth becomes more uniform in ZnCNF's macroporous structure. This uniform formation of dendrites is analyzed by ex-situ.

It was further evaluated with X-ray diffraction spectroscopy especially comparing (002) direction peaks. As a result of the symmetric cell plating/stripping test, the overpotential of ZnCNF was 88% and 84% lower than pure zinc at 0.1 mA cm-2 and 0.5 mA cm-2, respectively. Finally, full cell composed with MnO2 as a cathode were tested. After 100 cycles at the current rate of 3C, ZnCNF maintained 3.7 times higher capacity than the bare zinc.
